Wonderful Unit

Submitted: 11-10-2020

We purchased this combination oven and range to replace a 20-year old Kitchenaid slide-in unit that had a conventional cook top and a convection oven. Overall we are very pleased with our decision. The oven is significantly larger, bakes more uniformly, and browns top and bottom better. The induction range is simply marvelous. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great stove

Getting used to induction. Works awsome. Looks good with other kitchenaid appliances [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Very Good But Some Unfortunate Issues

We are long time KitchenAid users. Including a 36 inch induction cooktop. All products have been excellent. So when we needed a range in our new home, we purchased this range. As always, the induction cooktop portion cooks extremely well and efficiently. I will never go back to using gas or regular electric range tops. It is also a very sleek and modern design. However, after six months of use there are several design issues that have left us wishing we purchased a different KitchenAid cooking appliance. 1. The touch panel control window is hypersensitive in that your apron or clothes when reaching over has a propensity to enable the oven to turn on. We have many times inadvertently started the oven preheating simply by reaching over to grab a pot. The inverse is also true, once you get a little bit of water on the touch surface it is insensitive to your attempts to touch the menus to manipulate them. Causing you to have to wipe them off with a rag. But it is the inadvertent turning on of the oven or changing the settings of the oven incidentally and unintentionally that is problematic for us. 2. We used to have a KitchenAid dual wall oven. This oven seems to take an inordinate amount of time to preheat. We have resorted to using the broil function to preheat then selecting bake as it can take 20 minutes to reach 350. 3. As has been mentioned by others, while I really like the cooking surface touch controls for the oven stove, as with the control window when there is any water or other material on the cooktop sometimes it is insensitive to your touch. Also, perhaps as a result of previous feedback, they have made it that you are required to push more buttons to turn on the burner and set the temperature. Also, the stovetop times out and powers off requiring you to push the power button to turn it back on. Don’t get me wrong, the actual performance of the induction cooktop is second to none. The usability and user interface and surface controls have introduced a level of the frustration for us. While I have indicated I would not recommend this product to a friend, I would still advocate for a different KitchenAid induction range based on performance.

Fabulous way to cook

I have had this induction oven about a month and love it. Love the clean lines...no knobs, all digital. Cooks faster and little or no clean up on the range itself for it never really gets hot. Highly recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Significantly better than gas range

Submitted: 11-10-2020

We recently replaced a KitchenAid Gas Range with an induction range and WOW what an improvement. I won’t repeat a previous review of the gas range. Our only criticism of the induction range (with 2nd lower oven) is the size of the lower oven. Great concept but very limited space. Induction cooking ROCKS! Very pleased with our upgrade and recommend spending a little more. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
